Visita a Universidad de Concepción y proyecto Campus Naturaleza

Jul 30, 2025

In a context where environmental risks are becoming increasingly relevant to economic and financial stability, incorporating nature into business decision-making is no longer just an environmental issue: today, it is also a strategic and financial priority.

NaturaInvest and Acción Empresas organized the event “Nature-related Financial Risks: Challenges for the Chilean Financial System in the Face of Nature-related Risks: standards, regional experiences, and opportunities to move toward more resilient management,” with the support of the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD). The event served as a forum for dialogue aimed at addressing the specific challenges and experiences faced by the financial system in light of risks associated with biodiversity loss, ecosystem degradation, and the dependence of economic activities on natural capital.

We would like to thank everyone who participated in this discussion, as well as those who shared their perspectives based on international, regional, and local experience. In particular, we appreciate the contributions of Alan Gomez (TNFD), Carlos Santos (Banco Bolivariano), Gonzalo García-Trujillo (Central Bank of Chile), and Gabriel Correa (Association of Banks (ABIF)), which allowed us to delve deeper into standards, lessons learned, and opportunities to move toward more resilient financial management. We also thank the University of Concepción for hosting the event and Carolina López for moderating the discussion.

This meeting reinforces the importance of continuing to build capacity, generating useful information for decision-making, and incorporating nature into analysis, financing, and investment processes.

By hosting these events, NaturaInvest continues to foster collaborative spaces that help integrate biodiversity and natural capital into Chile’s business and financial agenda.
