Jul 30, 2025

The associate researcher at NaturaInvest presented the talk “Natural Capital and Businesses: From Value to Management” at a meeting dedicated to exploring the role of carbon and natural capital in organizational sustainability.
On Friday, October 16, the University of Concepción held the seminar “Carbon and Natural Capital in Sustainability Management” as part of UdeC Sustainability Month 2026.
The event brought together people interested in reflecting on how to translate environmental information into concrete decisions and actions.
Representing NaturaInvest, Dr. Isabel Torres Zapata gave a talk titled “Natural Capital and Businesses: From Value to Management,” addressing the importance of incorporating the value of nature and biodiversity into business management.
This topic encourages us to recognize that companies depend on ecosystems and, at the same time, have an impact on them. Incorporating this relationship into management allows us to broaden our perspective on business decisions and understand why natural capital is relevant to the sustainability of organizations.
The seminar also featured Cristián Vial Gueneau de Mussy, a specialist in carbon footprints and decarbonization strategies. The event thus offered complementary perspectives on carbon management and the integration of nature into organizations.
At NaturaInvest, we congratulate Isabel on the success of her talk and on her contribution to raising awareness of natural capital as a key element of business management. We thank everyone who attended and the organizers for creating this space for learning and exchange.
We value these initiatives that connect research with the challenges organizations face and enable continued progress in incorporating nature into their decision-making.
Invertir en naturaleza, invertir en futuro.
